It's been a crazy-busy summer here in the SuperTeacher office. We have so many exciting projects underway, and when you check out our site in the fall, you're going to LOVE what you see.
Here's a rundown of our summer projects:
Website Redesign
We've freshened up the design and layout of Super Teacher Worksheets. Yes, we've noticed how outdated our old design was. For the first time since 2009, our site received a major facelift!
Liku, our lead graphics designer, has created a great new look for the site. Maria and Jay, developers on our IT team, have been working tirelessly to convert hundreds of pages of content- including the homepage, internal worksheet pages, and purchasing page- over to the new design.
The printable teaching resources on our site have not changed, but the website's design and layout have. Have you seen our new look?
Spanish TranslationsOver the past few years, we have received countless requests to feature Spanish translations of our worksheets. This summer, we hired a Spanish teacher, Brianne, to translate our most popular printables to Spanish.
If you look at the links below worksheet descriptions, you'll notice that many have a "LANG" button. Click it, and you'll be able to view either an English or Spanish version of the selected worksheet.
New Super Heroes
Our vice-president, Chris, has created some brand new Super Teacher characters to feature on our site and in our promotional materials.
What do you think of the new Super Hero team of characters? We still need names for them! (If you have ideas, let us know in the comments below this post!)
Spelling Series
Our spelling series needed a little polishing, so we've tackled the task head-on. Our old spelling series didn't offer much variety of worksheets, and the word lists had a few repeated words. We were also lacking spelling resources for 5th graders.
Our spelling team - Christina, Leah, Krista, and Joe - has been working hard to produce all new spelling lists and worksheets for grades 1 through 5. Each grade will have 30 spelling units. Each spelling list will be phonics-based. And each unit will have eight or more worksheets to choose from. There will also be new holiday and themed units. These new worksheets all have custom graphics, created by Caitlin, our in-house graphics designer.
The spelling series is still a work-in-progress. We won't have all of the worksheets up for a few months yet. However, we've uploaded the first few units for each grade level so you'll have some spelling worksheets to start the year with.
Our aim is to have the most complete printable spelling series available on the Internet! The STW spelling series is a phonics-based curriculum, created by experienced teachers, that offers a large variety of spelling activities to choose from. Take a look at the new spelling resources on our site; you're going to like what you see.
Server Upgrades
Mario, our server administrator, has upgraded our website servers, and added extra security. Now we can handle more traffic, and the site should load more quickly during busy hours.
New Content and Contest
Leah, our marketer and content writer, has been busy writing new blog entries, sending promotional materials to EdCamps, posting to social media accounts, proofreading, and writing new worksheets for the website.
She and Mario even set up our very first STW contest in July. The winner received a digital microscope for her classroom. And they're having another contest right now! Win a boxed set of 28 Magic Tree House books.
Customer Service
Jen and Georgie, who take care of our customer service and billing, are very busy all year answering customer inquiries and processing purchase orders. They're excited to get new accounts set up for the upcoming school year. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email or call any time. We strive to have the best customer service of any teacher resource site on the web!
Thank you very much to all teachers who are members of our site. We're a small company with 10 employees, and we work very hard to bring you the best possible printable teaching resources. We appreciate your support, and hope you will continue to enjoy our website for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Tim Weibel (owner of superteacherworksheets.com)
