These spelling words are all contractions. I'd, shouldn't, aren't, we'll, isn't, what's, haven't, how's, hasn't, I'm, where's, let's, I've, would've, and couldn't.

This week's spelling words are contractions. Circle the contraction in each sentence and add the apostrophe it needs by writing the correct spelling word on the line. Review words and bonus words are included, as well as an answer key.

Unscramble the contractions on this worksheet.

Write each contraction from the spelling list twice.

Find all of the spelling words hidden in the word search. (Yes, the apostrophes are in there too!)

Students will use this typing activity to practice typing their spelling words in complete sentences.

Print out this spelling game on card stock. Students will take turns spinning the word wheel and quizzing each other on the spelling words that come up.

Use these cards to play a 2-player game. Begin by placing all flashcards face-down on the floor or table. Player A randomly picks a card and asks player B to spell the word on it. If he spells the word correctly, he earns one point. Then player B picks a card for player A to spell.

Rewrite each group of words alphabetically. For example: "would've, weren't, what's, where's" is rewritten as "weren't, what's, where's, would've".

Write all of this week's spelling words (including challenge and review words) alphabetically. Start with the word aren't and end with the word would've.

Rearrange the word cards alphabetically. Then glue them onto the page.
